Tahoe Truckee Campus

Mountain Mechatronics on the

Tahoe-Truckee Campus

The Tahoe-Truckee Campus is located in the heart of world-class mountain recreational opportunities.  This area is home to a thriving tourism industry which includes ski resorts, golf courses, water sports, lodging, and entertainment.  These businesses are dependent upon skilled technicians to maintain and repair sophisticated equipment, and the Mountain Mechatronics program is specifically tailored to address these specialized needs.

At Sierra College, Tahoe Truckee, MECH-1 "Science of Electronics", MECH-10 "Fundamentals of Computer Integrated Electronics", and MECH-44 "Mechatronics Processes and Materials" are offered.  Many students also take advantage of the opportunity to bridge theory with application in our internship placement program.  Upon completion of the course sequence, students earn an "Electro-Mechanical Skills Certificate" which increases their competitiveness for placement in high paying jobs in the mountain resort industries.  Students also have the option of transferring to the expanded Mechatronics program at the Nevada County or Rocklin campuses.
