Tahoe Truckee Campus
Mountain Mechatronics on
the
Tahoe-Truckee Campus
The Tahoe-Truckee Campus is located in the heart of world-class mountain recreational opportunities. This area is home to a thriving tourism industry which includes ski resorts, golf courses, water sports, lodging, and entertainment. These businesses are dependent upon skilled technicians to maintain and repair sophisticated equipment, and Mechatronics program specifically addresses these specialized needs.
At Sierra College, Tahoe Truckee, we offer MECH-1 "Science of Electronics" which provides an introduction to the topic of mechatronics (and also fulfills a required science credit for an associate's degree). This course allows students to investigate whether mechatronics is the right program of study for them and prepares them for more advanced electronics courses. If they decide to take more mechatronics classes, the full certificate or degree can be earned by taking courses at the Nevada County or Rocklin campuses.
